UAE Rowing team impresses at Asian Beach Championship

Sharjah 24: The UAE contemporary rowing squad performed admirably at the Asian Beach Rowing Championship, which was held in Pattaya, Thailand, from August 4 to 10, 2025, with 13 countries represented.

Strong performances by young rowers

Hamad Amer Al Shamsi finished fourth in the men's U-19 singles and fourth in the men's U-19 doubles, partnering with Hamad Abdullah Al Hosani. Salem Ali Al Mansoori finished fifth in the boys' U-16 singles, a category introduced for the first time in Asian championships, while Ahmed Khamees Al Hammadi placed ninth in the men's singles. In the men's doubles, Hamad Saeed Al Matroushi and Khamees Ghanem Al Shamsi finished sixth.

Federation applauds team's progress

Mohammed Abdullah Al Obaidli, Secretary-General of the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation, lauded the players' efforts and emphasised the event's importance in preparing athletes for worldwide contests, such as the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
