In the presence of Sheikha Hoor bint Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, President and Director of the Sharjah Art Foundation, the awards ceremony and closing of the 2025 World Stage Design Exhibition took place on Friday at the Sharjah Performing Arts Academy.
Ashour explained that the judging panels set criteria for selecting winners in each competition, ensuring alignment with sustainability principles while reflecting the theme “Tomorrow's Heritage”. The secret jury included 100 designers.
She noted that the exhibition toured five cities before reaching Sharjah: starting in Toronto, Canada; then Seoul, South Korea; Cardiff, South Wales; Taipei, Taiwan; and Calgary, Canada, before arriving in Sharjah for the 2025 edition.
The World Stage Design Exhibition is held every four years as a celebration for professional and emerging designers across global performance design sectors. The 2025 edition is organised jointly by Sharjah Performing Arts Academy and the International Organisation of Scenographers, Theatre Architects and Technicians (OISTAT).
