As part of its participation, ELIA is organising a lively cultural programme that includes interactive sessions and panel discussions aimed at improving the professional skills of library and information specialists. The programme covers several key areas, including the importance of knowledge and its part in creating an integrated information society, the preservation of heritage and national identity in response to artificial intelligence challenges, and digital marketing strategies for library services. It also highlights the importance of digital archiving in safeguarding national heritage, as well as privacy protection and information security. The initiative allows participants to learn about the latest global best practices. It encourages knowledge exchange among professionals, contributing to the overall development of the library and information sector in the UAE and the wider region.
ELIA will also participate in SIBF 2025, organised in collaboration with the Sharjah Book Authority and the American Library Association. Several ELIA members will engage in specialised sessions and panel discussions, providing opportunities to learn from international experiences and share expertise with peers from around the world. This involvement further promotes ELIA’s mission to enhance professional knowledge, improve institutional practices, and strengthen a more connected regional library network.

He said: “Through our participation at the Sharjah International Book Fair 2025, we aim to enhance the professional environment of the library sector, promote a culture of knowledge, preserve Emirati heritage, and embrace digital transformation to ensure a sustainable knowledge future for generations to come.”
