Sharjah24: Emirati writer Dr. Fatima Al Breiki, Professor of Rhetoric and Criticism at UAE University, highlighted the need for publishers to embrace the positive impact of technology on both writers and readers over recent decades.

Dr. Al Breiki noted one of the major challenges for readers today is the distraction caused by mobile phones and other internet-connected devices. However, she emphasised that technology has addressed this issue through devices dedicated exclusively to reading.

In an interview with "Sharjah24," Al Breiki highlighted that physical books possess a unique quality, fostering a lasting bond with readers and enhancing their ability to retain and recall information. She emphasised the importance of writers in promoting reading among children, suggesting they use AI tools to enhance accessibility and ease of reading.

She emphasised the importance for writers to remain engaged with the latest developments in AI to keep pace and enhance efficiency. She encouraged them to fully utilise these tools, which previous generations of writers did not have.
