This year’s edition of the festival will extend across two locations: Al Heera Beach in Sharjah from October 16 to 25, offering the public an opportunity to take part in diverse environmental and heritage activities, and Sir Bu Nair Island on October 24 and 25, allowing visitors to experience the island’s maritime atmosphere and rich cultural legacy, either by visiting the island directly or through activities brought to the beach. The festival promises an immersive environmental and cultural experience that highlights Sharjah’s deep-rooted maritime and natural heritage.
The festival’s Higher Organizing Committee has unveiled the new visual identity of the event, reflecting the island’s rich history, unique natural beauty, and the enduring bond between people and the sea across generations. The committee also announced the launch of the official festival website www.sirbunairisland.com, which serves as an interactive platform for visitors to explore event schedules, register electronically to visit the festival on the island via private boats (upon obtaining the required permit), and stay informed about all festival updates.
This year’s edition will be the most open to the public since the festival’s inception, offering the opportunity to visit Sir Bu Nair Island through prior online registration, ensuring a seamless and safe experience that embodies the island’s spirit and its historical and environmental significance as one of the UAE’s natural gems.
The festival will feature a wide array of interactive activities, educational workshops, and heritage shows that shed light on marine conservation and local biodiversity protection efforts, along with cultural and entertainment programs designed for all family members.
