Representing UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, led the UAE delegation.
The summit was co-chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and US President Donald Trump, marking a significant moment in international diplomacy. The opening session included official signing of the Gaza ceasefire agreement by El-Sisi, Trump, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, with the presence of all participating leaders.
The summit aimed to solidify the ceasefire, initiate efforts to achieve lasting peace and stability in the Middle East, and launch a comprehensive political process to rebuild the Gaza Strip. The wider objective is to enhance the humanitarian situation and prepare for a new phase of regional cooperation to end the suffering of the Palestinian people and secure sustainable security in the region.
In his keynote address, President El-Sisi stated that the summit represents a ray of hope for the region and an opportunity to close a painful chapter in history.
Addressing President Trump directly, El-Sisi said: “You have demonstrated that true leadership is measured not by the initiation of wars, but by the capacity to conclude them.”
He expressed Egypt’s full confidence in US leadership to carry forward the ceasefire agreement and its implementation, while also thanking the summit partners: the United States, Qatar, and Türkiye.
President El-Sisi reiterated support for the Two-State Solution, calling it the only viable path to meeting the aspirations of both Palestinians and Israelis. He stated:
“Let the war in Gaza be the last war in the Middle East.”
“The Palestinian people have the inalienable right to self-determination… and to live within their own independent state alongside Israel in peace and mutual recognition.”
El-Sisi announced Egypt's intention to host the “Conference for Early Recovery, Reconstruction, and Development”, which will support the ceasefire agreement by providing essential livelihoods and restoring hope for the Palestinian people.
In a symbolic gesture of appreciation, President El-Sisi concluded by awarding President Trump the “Order of the Nile”, Egypt’s highest and most prestigious state decoration, for his efforts in ending the war in Gaza and advancing peace.
