The brand-new A320neo joins Air Arabia’s existing fleet of 83 Airbus A320 Family aircraft, officially starting the delivery process of its full 120-aircraft order. The order includes 73 A320neo, 27 A321neo, and 20 A321XLR aircraft.
This fleet expansion underscores Air Arabia’s long-term strategy to grow its route network, enhance environmentally responsible operations, and strengthen its presence across key markets.
The arrival of the new aircraft was celebrated with a special ceremony at Sharjah International Airport, attended by Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammad Al Thani, Chairman of Air Arabia, Sheikh Khalid Bin Issam Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation, Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, and Adel Al Ali, Group CEO of Air Arabia, along with senior officials.
Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammad Al Thani stated that this delivery represents a key milestone in the airline’s fleet development, reinforcing its commitment to operational efficiency, innovation, and sustainability while maintaining passenger comfort and value.
He highlighted that the introduction of the A320neo will enhance operational performance and support the airline’s expansion into new markets. The airline remains focused on leveraging the latest technologies to improve efficiency across its operations.
The A320neo aircraft is scheduled to begin service on 1st October 2025, operating its first commercial flight between Sharjah and Bangkok.
This delivery is part of Air Arabia’s second direct order with Airbus, following its 2007 order for 49 A320 aircraft. The new aircraft will support the airline’s multi-hub operations across Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Morocco, Egypt, and Pakistan (Fly Jinnah). It complements the airline’s existing leased fleet and ensures efficient operations across its expanding route network.
Additional aircraft from the 2019 order are expected to be delivered before the end of the year, continuing to support Air Arabia’s ambitious fleet growth and regional expansion plans.
