Dr Abdulaziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, stated that this milestone enhances the Arab cultural presence in global forums and reaffirms the region’s status as a beacon of human and civilizational values.
“We congratulate our sister nation Egypt on this well-deserved victory, which crowns its historic role in supporting culture and heritage and its deep contributions to preserving human memory. We look forward with optimism to a new phase in UNESCO’s work under Dr El-Anany’s leadership, confident that it will further strengthen values of diversity and intercultural dialogue,” he said.
Dr Al Musallam added that Arab cultural cooperation continues to advance toward shared goals in heritage preservation and safeguarding human legacy, noting that the Sharjah Institute for Heritage—guided by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah—takes great pride in this Arab achievement, which embodies the spirit of global cultural partnership shared by Sharjah and UNESCO.
In conclusion, the Institute reaffirmed its pride in the strong and long-standing relationship between Sharjah and UNESCO, emphasising the continuation of constructive cooperation in culture, heritage, and identity preservation. The statement highlighted that Dr El-Anany’s victory will serve as a new impetus to strengthen Arab representation in international organisations and to reinforce the leading cultural roles of both Egypt and Sharjah in promoting and preserving shared human heritage.
