Recognition of national competencies in the heritage field

His Excellency Dr Abdulaziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, emphasised that this decision reflects the great confidence the Government of Sharjah places in qualified national cadres to lead cultural and heritage initiatives and embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to consolidate the emirate's position as a global capital of heritage and knowledge.

Al Musallam added that the selection of Professor Aisha Al Shamsi for this position is a culmination of her distinguished career in the fields of cultural heritage and cultural management, as well as her active role in developing heritage programmes and projects both within and outside the Institute. He noted that her appointment as the Award's Secretary General will contribute to strengthening its international presence and consolidating its mission of honouring creative individuals and centres active in preserving cultural heritage around the world.
