Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Training and Development Center, part of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has recently wrapped up an exciting program called the Strategic Leadership Program - Oxford and Cambridge, in collaboration with Harris Manchester College at the University of Oxford.

The program started with interactive workshops designed to help leaders build their skills and adapt to the ever-changing global market. Participants explored important leadership qualities and discussed how strategic leadership can improve a company’s ability to compete. They also shared valuable insights and experiences in developing human resources as essential assets for organizations. To add a touch of culture, the day ended with a tour of Oxford's famous landmarks.

The second day was packed with four intense workshops that looked into what the technology landscape will look like in 2025 and how AI startups will influence workplaces. Discussions included the critical role of cybersecurity in protecting businesses in our increasingly digital world. Participants also learned about trends in the AI market and their effects on businesses, along with insights into environmental challenges faced by countries like Malaysia.

The program emphasized the need to foresee future changes and harness technology and innovation to create effective leadership strategies for organizations and communities.

On the third day, participants enjoyed a unique combination of knowledge and culture during a guided tour. They visited the BMW Mini Plant to see industrial innovation and the latest production technologies, explored New College University’s rich academic history, learned about Oxford's historic architecture at St. Mary Tower, and broadened their cultural understanding by touring the city itself. These visits linked leadership training with practical experiences, providing insights into history, culture, and innovation.

The fourth day focused on critical topics that align with today’s global sustainability efforts. Participants engaged in lively discussions about the circular economy, sustainability, and the role of corporate social responsibility, along with a case study on Malaysia's 2050 Agenda. The day encouraged sharing experiences and different perspectives, fostering a rich exchange of ideas.

On the fifth day, held at the University of Cambridge, participants attended two training sessions focused on industrial sustainability and the shifting dynamics of globalization. They also visited the Cambridge Mosque, a remarkable modern architectural gem that showcases innovative design rooted in sustainability. The day concluded with a delightful boat tour on the River Cam, offering views of several historic universities and colleges, including St. John's and King's College.

The program wrapped up on the final day with a ceremony honoring participants for successfully completing their training, followed by a celebratory dinner at the University of Oxford, filled with pride and accomplishment.
