Nuzha Haykun visits Sharjah to enhance cultural exchange

Sharjah 24: In a step towards strengthening cultural ties and sharing expertise, Moroccan writer, theatre director, and academic Dr. Nuzha Haykun visited the Cultural Office at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah. Dr. Haykun is the President of the "Fanoramic" Performing Arts Troupe and serves as Artistic Director of both the Marrakech International Forum of Women Playwrights and the Marrakech Short Plays Festival.

Warm welcome and productive dialogue

She was welcomed by Saleha Obaid Ghabish, Head of the Cultural Office, along with several staff members. During the meeting, Dr. Haykun was introduced to the office’s various cultural and artistic initiatives, while also sharing her own academic and theatrical experiences. She stressed the importance of fostering meaningful cultural dialogue between Morocco and Sharjah, describing the emirate as a beacon of cultural leadership.

Shared commitment to culture

Dr. Haykun praised Sharjah’s unwavering support for culture, especially theatre, and expressed appreciation for the Cultural Office’s work in spreading cultural awareness. She highlighted the need for joint efforts to create more opportunities for artists and researchers across the Arab world.

The visit concluded with a tour of the Cultural Office facilities, where Dr. Haykun learned more about its cultural programmes and community initiatives, reaffirming mutual aspirations for deeper cultural cooperation.
