Sharjah24: Sheikha Saif Al-Suwaidi, Head of the Family Information Department at the Sharjah Family Development Foundation under the Sharjah Family and Community Council, stated that a recent survey involving 360 respondents from the community aimed to measure the drivers and desires behind irresponsible spending and the impact of various economic factors. The survey was part of a recent exploratory study in Sharjah on the social and economic factors influencing consumption patterns, discussed in a session organized by the Foundation.
The study revealed key social and economic motivations that shape consumer behaviors. Al-Suwaidi noted that the results highlighted positive indicators, including an increased awareness among participants of the importance of saving and investing, reflecting the impact of awareness campaigns in shifting financial behaviors.
She further emphasised the pivotal role of the family in instilling sound financial habits, stressing that parents should serve as role models in the wise management of money and in teaching children the principles of financial literacy from an early age.
