Sharjah24: The Sharjah Police (SP) General Command and the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority dealt with a house fire that broke out this morning in the city of Khorfakkan. The incident resulted in a 52-year-old Emirati man sustaining burn injuries; he was transported to the hospital to receive the necessary medical treatment.

Colonel Waleed Al Yamahi, Director of the Eastern Region Police Department, clarified that the Operations Room received an alert at six o'clock this morning from a family member who reported hearing a popping sound followed by the fire breaking out. All specialist teams and the National Ambulance were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Initial investigations, based on reports from fire experts at the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority, revealed that the fire was caused by a limited gas leak stemming from gases emitted by the house's internal sewage systems, which resulted in parts of the home catching fire.

The Director of the Eastern Region Police Department urged community members to ensure the periodic safety and cleanliness of their sewage systems and to adhere strictly to safety and prevention procedures when handling flammable gases. He stressed the importance of regular inspection and maintenance of these systems by specialised authorities to guarantee the protection of lives and property and prevent such accidents. He wished everyone safety.
