Sharjah24: The Sharjah Parents’ Council, affiliated with the Districts Affairs Department, recently held a distinctive dialogue session with parents as part of its efforts to foster constructive communication between families and schools. The session was presented by Saeeda Al Hammadi, Vice President; Dr Amina Al Marzouqi, Chair of the Research and Partnerships Committee; and Aisha Al Zarouni, Chair of the Educational Committee. The initiative aimed to reinforce educational partnerships and empower families to support their children academically and behaviourally.

Key discussion topics

Held yesterday morning at the council’s headquarters, the session focused on several core topics, including academic responsibility, the importance of monitoring and motivating children to learn, and personal and behavioural responsibility that instils values of discipline and commitment. Participants also explored the role of family-school collaboration in enhancing academic achievement and fostering cooperative efforts to achieve the best educational outcomes.

Embracing change and resilience

The session further addressed the concept of embracing change as a vital life skill, highlighting the family’s role in nurturing mental and emotional flexibility in children to face challenges, particularly amid rapid educational and societal developments. These discussions generated positive engagement from parents, who shared practical experiences and strategies for supporting their children’s learning journey.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Mohannad Al Bustani, Chairman of the Council, thanked parents for their active participation and reaffirmed the council’s commitment to continuing such initiatives that strengthen the integration between home and school, contributing to the development of a responsible and aware generation capable of keeping pace with contemporary changes.
