Adeyemi secures Dortmund victory over Wolfsburg

Sharjah 24: Karim Adeyemi led Borussia Dortmund to a 1-0 victory over visiting Wolfsburg in the final round of the fourth round of the German Football Championship.

Only goal

Borussia Dortmund owes its third consecutive victory to its international striker Karim Adeyemi, who scored the only goal in the 20th minute after a pass from Norwegian international defender Julian Ryerson.

Borussia Dortmund continued its revival after its disappointing 3-3 draw with newly promoted St. Pauli in the first round, raising its tally to 10 points, two points behind defending champions Bayern Munich, who have a perfect score.

First loss

Dortmund reclaimed second place from Leipzig, who had taken it on Saturday with a 3-1 home win over Cologne. This was also their third consecutive defeat, after a humiliating 0-0 defeat to the Bavarian club in the first half.

Wolfsburg, on the other hand, suffered their first loss of the season, having won two and drawn two, leaving them in twelfth place with five points.
