Sharjah 24 – WAM: Marking the International Day of Peace on September 21, the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace urged stronger efforts to promote peace, tolerance, and cooperation among nations.

Peace must go beyond symbolism

Council President Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Jarwan emphasized that the day should be a time for real action, not just symbolic gestures, to secure a peaceful future for coming generations.

Concern over global instability

Al Jarwan highlighted the growing challenges to global peace, especially pointing to the violence in Gaza. He condemned civilian casualties and human rights violations, stating that current Israeli policies are fueling further violence and undermining peace efforts.

Call for dialogue and coexistence

Al Jarwan urged governments, international organizations, and civil society to commit to justice, coexistence, and peaceful conflict resolution through dialogue and mediation, rather than violence.
