The Election Committee of the UAE Tennis Federation officially announced the full election of the nominated Board of Directors for the 2024–2028 term. This announcement took place during the General Assembly meeting in Dubai.
Leadership and board composition
Engineer Dawood Al Hajri was elected as Chairman of the Federation, while the elected board members include Ibrahim Al Asam, Hassan Al Zarouni, Ahmed Al Bahar, Faisal Al Kaabi, and Ammar Khalaf Al Shamsi. Sheikha Khamis Al Shamsi secured the women’s seat, completing the elected group.

The election proceedings were overseen by committee members Mohammed Al Humairi, Saud Kajoor Al Nuaimi, Ali Al Sayed Al Hashemi, and Majid Hussein Wahidi.
Club representation and participation
The election was attended by representatives from 14 clubs across the UAE, including Al Nasr, Al Wasl, Shabab Al Ahli, Sharjah, Khorfakkan, Falaj Al Mualla, Ajman, Al Madam, Al Bataeh, Al Taawoun, Masafi, Abu Dhabi Racquet Club, Dibba Al Hisn, and Sharjah Women's Sports Club.
Chairman outlines strategic vision
Engineer Dawood Al Hajri thanked the General Assembly and the Election Committee for their effective coordination and management of the session. He emphasised that the new board brings together members with practical experience, many of whom are former players. This collective experience equips the board with a clear vision for advancing the sport of table tennis across the country.
Plans for Expansion and Inclusion
Al Hajri highlighted the Federation’s intention to introduce innovative strategies that include exploring investment and marketing opportunities within the sport. He expressed a desire to encourage more clubs to adopt table tennis as a core activity, and to involve girls’ clubs and expatriate communities in the sport. These efforts aim to broaden participation and enhance the popularity of table tennis throughout the UAE.
Support for national teams and youth development
Board member Ibrahim Al Assam affirmed that the Federation will prioritise efforts to expand the player base by organising competitions targeting expatriate and resident communities. He also confirmed ongoing support for national teams across all age categories. A special focus will be placed on developing girls’ participation in the sport, under the guidance of the newly elected female board member, in alignment with the Federation’s broader vision for inclusion and growth.
