The renamed foundation will continue operating as a non-profit public interest entity, originally established under Decree No. (13) of 1997. It will maintain its current legal and functional structure under the updated title.
Expanded humanitarian mandate
Guided by Sheikh Mohammed and overseen by its Supreme Chairman, the Establishment continues to implement wide-ranging charitable programs. These include efforts in social welfare, education, healthcare, religious initiatives, cultural development, and emergency relief, both within the UAE and internationally.
Focus on health, education, and social support
The Establishment supports health programs, offers financial aid to patients, and provides educational assistance to students and institutions. It also helps families with limited income and responds to humanitarian crises, contributing to community welfare and social stability.
Regulatory oversight and compliance
The Establishment remains under the supervision of Dubai’s Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department and the Community Development Authority. It is subject to relevant laws regulating non-profit and charitable entities in the emirate, ensuring continued legal compliance.
Implementation and legal validity
Decree No. (36) of 2025 replaces the original 1997 decree, while earlier decisions and recent related decrees remain in effect unless they conflict with the new provisions. The updated decree is effective upon publication in the Official Gazette.
