Sharjah 24: The players from the Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club have achieved a significant milestone by excelling in the UAE national team for modern pentathlon for athletes under 15 years old. They earned five bronze medals during the first Arab Championship held in Egypt from August 14 to 18, 2025, where six countries participated: the UAE, Egypt, Kuwait, Libya, Syria, and Sudan. The championship wrapped up on Sunday evening.

The UAE national team secured third place, thanks to the outstanding performances of the Mleiha Club athletes: Dhiyab Omar Saeed Al Ketbi, Hamid Saeed Mohammed Khasouni Al Ketbi, and Salem Musabah Tamim Al Ketbi. Their impressive skills continued on Sunday, leading Dhiyab and Salem to win two more bronze medals in the relay race, showcasing their readiness to compete with the best from other Arab nations.

Mohammed Sultan Khasouni Al Ketbi, the Chairman of the Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club, expressed his pride in the players’ success, highlighting how they have brought honor to both the club and the nation. He emphasized the importance of investing in youth sports, stating that it helps build future champions and aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

Al Ketbi remarked that this event's significance goes beyond just winning medals; it also allows players to learn from different styles of modern pentathlon practiced in other Arab countries, which helps improve their skills and mindset. He concluded by stating that the Mleiha Club aims to strengthen the UAE's presence in regional sports and believes that nurturing young talent is key to achieving success on both national and international stages.
