Sharjah 24: Tunisia's Ahmed Jaouadi secured his first major international title by winning the 800m freestyle at the World Swimming Championships in Singapore on Wednesday.

Perfectly timed performance

Jaouadi executed a well-paced race, launching his decisive move midway through and steadily pulling away from the field. He touched the wall at 7:36.88.

German swimmers take silver and bronze

Germany’s Sven Schwarz claimed silver in 7:39.96, while 400m champion Lukas Maertens followed closely for bronze with 7:40.19.

Record-breaking pace

Jaouadi’s winning time marks the third-fastest ever recorded in the 800m freestyle event.
