Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club recently kicked off the fourth week of the UAE Summer Show Jumping Season at its facility. The event brought together a mix of talented Emirati riders in a thrilling competition, held in comfortable, air-conditioned halls to allow for year-round show jumping. Organized under the guidance of the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation, the club hosted eight events, attracting 468 riders of different ages and skill levels. Each category featured two competitions to ensure everyone had a chance to participate.

One standout rider, Amr Gamal Mohammed, showcased his talent with his horse, “Zazou Z.” He claimed victory in several events, including a recent challenge that involved jumping over 130 cm high obstacles. This win marked his fifth victory of the summer season, having started strong by winning twice with “Zazou Z” in previous weeks.

In a competition featuring 32 riders, nine made it to the final round, and five completed the course without any mistakes. Amr secured first place with a speedy time of 36.36 seconds. The runner-up was Mohamed Ghaly Atef with “Victory,” followed closely by Daoud Bourizai with “Sancodex.”

On the first day of the competitions, 29 riders faced off in additional special stages over 130 cm jumps. Saif Awaidha Al Karbi emerged victorious with his horse, “Dinky Toy Z,” finishing with an impressive time of 35.73 seconds. His teammate, Amelie Myhrvold, came in second, and Mahmoud Mohammed Al Far took third place.

Both Amr Gamal and Saif Awaidha illustrated their skills by dominating the 130 cm events as well as the special stages for younger horses. In a separate competition for young show jumping horses aged 6 years, 56 competitors participated. Amr again secured first place with “Zazou Z,” adding to his success in the higher jumps.

Younger horses, particularly those aged 5 years, also participated in two events designed for beginners. The courses were set up with obstacles ranging from 100 to 110 cm tall. Out of 85 young riders, 21 completed the first round without any errors. A second round saw a continuation of this, and 14 riders completed their course successfully.

Overall, the day was filled with excitement and showcased the skill and dedication of both riders and horses at the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club.
