Sharjah 24: Al Dhaid Sports Club received a delegation from the Follow-up and Evaluation Committee of the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC).

Ongoing support and attention to youth and children

The visit was part of the "I Am Creative" Week activities included in the "Sharjah Sports Summer - Our Holiday Is Different" programme. This comes as part of the Emirate of Sharjah's ongoing support and great attention to youth and children, and embodies the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to harness the energies of children during the summer vacation through comprehensive and unique activities.

Combining modernity and national identity

The reception, held on Thursday morning at the club's headquarters, was intended to allow Al Dhaid Club to continue its activities as part of "Sharjah Sports Summer" in a unique style that combines modernity and national identity, relying on an integrated infrastructure and qualified personnel. This ensures the programme's objectives of building an aware, empowered generation that participates in supporting the development process in the UAE.

The visiting delegation was headed by Bakhit Saeed Al Qurs, Director of the Sports and Community Events Department and Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Summer Committee, accompanied by Ahmed Ali Al Salman, Programme Director and Chairman of the Supervision and Follow-up Committee.

The delegation was received by Salem Mohammed bin Howaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Dhaid Club; Saif bin Dalwan Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Strategic Planning and Institutional Excellence Committee at the club; and Muhair Obaid Al Khayal Al Tunaiji, Executive Director of the club.

Comprehensive visit

During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the summer programmes and events organised by the club within a comprehensive framework that combines entertainment, education, and skills.

The tour included several modern facilities, such as the indoor swimming pool, the multi-purpose gym, and the shooting hall, which received special attention due to the precise and professional training it provides to participants. The delegation also attended part of the club's daily cultural competition and several sports and competitive activities aimed at strengthening team spirit and developing the physical and mental capabilities of members.

Addressing the needs of different age groups

During the meeting, Al Dhaid Club officials emphasised that this year's summer programmes were designed according to well-thought-out scientific and educational principles, addressing the needs of different age groups. They contribute to instilling values of belonging and discipline, and fostering creative thinking among participants.

Building well-balanced personalities

The programmes are held under the umbrella of the "Our Holiday is Different" programme, which includes themes such as "I am Creative," "I am an Athlete," "I am the Future," and "I am the Community," among others. These programmes aim to build a well-rounded and balanced personality for young people.

For their part, SSC delegation praised the quality of the programmes and organisation, and the clear interaction from the participants. They noted the club's efforts in translating the emirate's vision of empowering youth and providing a stimulating and safe environment to hone their skills during the summer vacation. They emphasised the importance of this cooperation in transferring successful experiences and improving performance across all the emirate's clubs.
