Al Batayeh Club launches “Our Holiday is Different”

Sharjah 24: Al Batayeh Cultural and Sports Club launched, on Monday, its summer programme “Sharjah Sports Summer – Our Holiday is Different.”

This came in the presence of His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah bin Halis Al Ketbi, Club Chairman, and Abdullatif Al Fardan, Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, along with board members, a wide official and public turnout, and active participation from children and their families from Al Batayeh area, in a lively and joyful atmosphere.

Distinguished Official Attendance

The opening ceremony was attended by a number of dignitaries and community leaders, most notably: His Excellency Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority and member of the Sharjah Executive Council; His Excellency Saeed bin Fadel, Director of Al Wusta TV from Al Dhaid; His Excellency Obaid Al Salami, General Manager of Dubai Investment Real Estate; His Excellency Ambassador Fathy Jaber Afana, CEO of FAST Building Contracting Company; His Excellency Abdullah Sultan bin Salouma, Director of Al Batayeh Municipality and Chairman of the Programme Organising Committee; His Excellency Abdulrahman bin Hwaiden, Representative of Sharjah Cooperative Society; and Dr Eid Kanaan, Dean of Student Affairs at the University of Sharjah.

Community Support and Family Participation

The ceremony also witnessed notable attendance from parents and families in Al Batayeh region, who were eager to support their children and encourage their active participation in the summer programme.

Opening Ceremony

The event began with the UAE national anthem, followed by a recitation from the Holy Quran. Then came a welcoming speech by His Excellency Mohammed bin Halis, who expressed his pride in launching this year’s edition of the programme, emphasising the importance of investing children’s time during summer break in ways that build their intellectual and physical capabilities and reinforce national identity and belonging.

Comprehensive Activities and Programme Objectives

This was followed by a speech from His Excellency Abdullah bin Salouma, Chairman of the Organising Committee, who highlighted the diversity of the programme’s segments and the Club’s aim to provide a comprehensive educational and recreational environment that meets the aspirations of children and their families.

A Rich Opening Agenda

The opening programme featured several notable segments, including an introductory video presenting the objectives and scope of “Our Holiday is Different,” an interactive educational segment titled “Artificial Intelligence” presented by Dr Ayman Al Bahar, a guided tour of the club’s facilities and activities, recognition of sponsors and supporters of the summer programme, and various entertainment activities for children. These included stage performances, a workshop in innovation, and sessions on handicrafts and creative arts.

Daily Enrichment in a Safe Environment

The summer programme continues with daily activities designed to enhance skills and develop children's personalities through a blend of sports, arts, technology, and innovation—within a safe, stimulating environment and under the supervision of a team of specialists and trainers.

Community Appreciation

Meanwhile, the families of Al Batayeh expressed their appreciation for the trust placed by the Sheikhs in the Board of Al Batayeh Cultural and Sports Club, led by His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah bin Halis Al Ketbi and his fellow board members, wishing them continued success in serving the club and the local community.
