Sharjah Police launches anti-drug awareness campaign

Sharjah 24: Brigadier Majid Sultan Al Asam, Director of the Anti-Drug Department at Sharjah Police, stated that the General Command is continuing to organise a series of awareness activities across multiple cities and regions in the emirate. These efforts are aligned with the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, aiming to raise public awareness of the dangers of drug abuse.

Launch of the campaign across cities

In remarks to “Sharjah 24,” Brigadier Al Asam revealed that the campaign began in the Eastern Region, particularly in Khorfakkan, and later extended to Sharjah City. Events will take place on June 23 and 24 at Rahmania Mall, with the goal of educating the community about drug dangers, prevention methods, and reporting procedures.

Focus on families and positive engagement

Brigadier Al Asam emphasised that the campaign targets a wide cross-section of society, especially parents, by highlighting their critical role in protecting their children. He urged families to help their children make the most of their summer vacation through sports, cultural, and scientific activities, which foster positive behavior and guard against delinquency.
