The forum also supports technological innovations aimed at protecting children from exploitation and harmful content, reflecting Sharjah's commitment to keeping pace with these developments and transforming them into tools that contribute to building a safer future for children.
The forum includes two main sessions that highlight digital risks and innovative solutions for ensuring children's safety in the digital world.
The forum targets professionals in the fields of childhood, education, and social care, as well as parents and those interested in educational and technical affairs, with the aim of enhancing their awareness about protecting children in the digital environment.
The first session, titled "Digital Risks and Local and International Laws to Ensure a Safe Environment for Children," will feature specialists from the Early Childhood Authority, along with representatives from the Court of Justice and the Public Prosecution. Experts from UNICEF will also be hosted to present a remote online session, presenting international insights and experiences in child protection.
The second session, titled "Presenting Real-Life Experiences and Practices: Innovative Strategies and Efforts to Secure the Digital Space for Children," will focus on reviewing practical solutions and innovative initiatives.
This session will be presented by experts from SSSD, Sharjah Police, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, the Community Development Authority, and the Ministry of Education, in addition to representatives from the Teachers Association.
SSSD affirmed that this forum falls within the framework of Sharjah's efforts to provide a safe digital environment for children and protect them from cyber threats. The department emphasised that the forum, held annually, seeks to strengthen the role of society and institutions in addressing these challenges, ensuring a healthy and protected upbringing for future generations in light of the rapid digital development.
