Sharjah24: Faisal Khalid Al Nabooda, Director of Marketing and Public Relations at the Sharjah Cooperative Soceity (SCS) , announced on Tuesday, the launch of the new food security product "FILI Poultry" in collaboration with the Sharjah Agricultural and Livestock Production "IKTIFA," part of the Department of Agriculture and Livestock. He confirmed that the first batch of 5,000 birds is distributed daily across 15 branches, with total capacity expected to gradually increase to 12,000 birds by the end of the year.
Al Nabooda stated that "FILI Poultry" represents a new breed not previously found in the Gulf region, raised through free-range farming, which provides higher quality meat and richer flavor compared to fast-growing broiler chickens. He emphasized that the birds are fed natural plants without antibiotics, hormones, or chemical additives.

The product will be available to consumers in various packaging, including whole chickens and cut parts like wings, thighs, and skinless or bone-in breasts. This initiative responds to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to enhance food security and provide organic, natural food for the community.

Al Nabooda added that the cooperative has ensured all storage and distribution services are in place to deliver the product fresh to consumers, reiterating that the Sharjah Cooperative Society will continue to support "IKTIFA's" agricultural and livestock products, reinforcing the emirate's food security and reliance on local organic products.
