In implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for the emirate's municipal directors to conduct daily field visits before commencing office operations, Dibba Al Hisn Municipality has provided diverse services to residents across all sectors. The aim is to meet the needs of citizens, residents, and visitors to the city, ensuring their comfort and happiness.
Maryam Rashdou, Director of the Customer and Employee Happiness Department, confirmed that the department provided 816 services during the four months of this year, including the implementation of 209 family housing contracts, 139 commercial contracts, and two employee housing contracts. The number of customer requests from the Sharjah Contact Centre reached 368, and the number of requests for outdoor advertising permits reached 24. The department's services also included the provision of 74 clearance certificates.
In this context, Khadija Najib, in charge of the Agriculture Department at Dibba Al Hisn Municipality, stated that 241 various services were provided during the first four months of 2025. Among the most prominent of these services is the Agricultural Advisor service, which includes tree pruning, tree and shrub removal, in addition to the supply of agricultural seedlings and agricultural sand. Services also included the spraying of agricultural pesticides and the provision of agricultural support workers upon request.
Engineer Raja Mohammed Al Naqbi, Director of the Engineering Services Department at the Municipality, reported that the total number of services provided by the department reached 198 during the four months of 2025. These included 11 requests for sewage plan approval for projects (new, added, or modified), 17 requests for transactional plans or final acceptance for residential projects, two requests for issuing a no-objection certificate for government projects, and one request for a groundwater drainage permit.
Ayman Fadel, in charge of the Control and Inspection Department at the Municipality, explained that the total number of services provided by the Municipal Operations and Inspection Department reached 4,001 during the four months of 2025. These included 2,270 requests for sewage drainage, 1,178 requests from the public regarding cleaning and pest control for homes and government facilities, 273 services for pest control using spraying and thermal fogging in the city, and 280 emergency services for controlling scorpions, snakes, stray animals, and rodents.
Meanwhile, the Municipality's Public Health Department revealed that it implemented 780 services. These services included 716 supervisions of livestock slaughtering and butchering, 14 permits for food distribution inside and outside the emirate, four permits for the distribution of farm products, and 15 permits for the sale of five-gallon water in grocery stores and supermarkets. Seven certificates of approval were also provided, three samples of swimming pool water were taken, five samples of henna were taken, and 16 new commercial licenses were approved. The department is always keen to provide these services to ensure the health and safety of Dibba Al Hisn residents.
His Excellency Talib Abdullah Al Yahyaei, Director of Dibba Al Hisn Municipality, said that the municipality’s departments are constantly intensifying their efforts to provide the best and most diverse services, including municipal, engineering, health, agricultural, environmental, and others, to all residents of the virtuous city, in implementation of the directives of the Sharjah government, which aim to improve the quality of life and enhance the well-being of the residents of the smiling emirate.
Al Yahyaei emphasised the municipality’s commitment to enhancing the level of public services and achieving the emirate’s strategic vision of building an advanced and sustainable society, which contributes to providing a healthy and safe living environment, reflecting, in its entirety, its dedication to serving citizens and residents alike. He pointed out that the municipality provided, during the four months of this year, 6,052 comprehensive and diverse services with the aim of meeting the needs of citizens, residents, and visitors to the city, ensuring their comfort and happiness.
