Sharjah 24: The Zayed bin Hamdan School Hall in Abu Dhabi saw on Saturday strong competition in the UAE Fencing Federation Championship for under 13 and under 15 years old individuals, amid an exciting atmosphere that combined skill, challenge, and ambition among the young players.

10 skillful players

Sharjah Women's Sports Club had a strong presence in the championship, with 10 players demonstrating advanced technical levels and a high competitive spirit, resulting in a number of remarkable results.

In the under 15 category, Shamma Al Suwaidi excelled, winning the gold medal in the sabre after a series of skillful matches. Mahra Al Zarouni added a second silver medal in the same weapon, while Shamma Al Muhairi won the bronze medal in the foil. In the under-13 category, Mahra Al Zarouni took second place in the sabre fencing event after a well-organised offensive performance. Maryam Al Marzouqi and Reem Al Serkal won two bronze medals in the epee event, alongside Hanan Saeed, who excelled in the foil event, and Noura Al Ketbi, who displayed a distinguished presence in the sabre event, adding two bronze medals to the team's tally.

Fencing... a key sport

Results confirm fencing as a key sport within the Sharjah Women's Sports plans to develop individual sports and create champions. They also reflect the ongoing efforts to nurture emerging age groups and provide an integrated training environment that hones skills and prepares a generation capable of representing the country with confidence and competence in international forums.
