Sharjah 24 – AFP: Bayern Munich celebrated its record-extending 34th Bundesliga title with a 2-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach at the Allianz Arena in the penultimate round of the season. The title, already confirmed the previous week, was officially celebrated in front of home fans with the presentation of the league trophy.

Müller’s farewell match ends in victory

The match marked a special occasion as it was the final home appearance for veteran star Thomas Müller. Bayern’s goals came from England’s Harry Kane and France’s Michael Oliseh, sealing a comfortable and symbolic win for the champions.

Leipzig falls short of Champions League qualification

RB Leipzig’s hopes for a Champions League berth were dashed after a goalless draw with Werder Bremen. Despite climbing to 51 points, Leipzig dropped to seventh place, falling behind Freiburg and Borussia Dortmund in the race for the top four.

Freiburg takes advantage with comeback win

Freiburg strengthened their Champions League hopes by defeating Holstein Kiel 2-1. After falling behind in the 24th minute, Freiburg equalized before halftime and secured the win with a second-half goal. They now hold fourth place with 55 points and could qualify outright if Dortmund fails to win against Leverkusen.

Holstein Kiel and Bochum relegated

Both Holstein Kiel and Bochum were relegated after home losses. Kiel, in their first Bundesliga season, remain second to last with just 25 points. Bochum also suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat to Mainz, confirming their drop to the second division.

Final round holds crucial implications

Freiburg faces a tough final-round clash against third-placed Eintracht Frankfurt. Frankfurt, meanwhile, only need two points from their last two games to secure a Champions League spot. Borussia Dortmund, also in the mix, must win against Leverkusen to stay in contention.
