The victory took Bayern’s points tally to 10 at the top of the table, temporarily putting pressure on Freiburg and Borussia Dortmund, the only two teams to have won their opening three matches before they visit Eintracht Frankfurt and Stuttgart respectively on Saturday.

Jamal Musiala (18), Kane (39 from a penalty and 54), Olise (43, 73 and 76) and Moroccan Ismael Saibari (70) scored Bayern’s seven goals.

Kane scored his 100th Bundesliga goal in just 98 appearances when he netted his first against Union Berlin, setting a new record in the competition.

The previous record was held by Dieter Müller, who needed 129 appearances to reach 100 Bundesliga goals with Köln in the early 1970s.

Olise scored his first hat-trick for Bayern, whom he joined in summer 2024. Along with providing an assist and winning a penalty, he continued his exceptional start to the season, taking his tally to eight goals and three assists in seven matches across all competitions.

Following the long international break in late September and early October, Bayern will visit neighbours Augsburg before travelling to Norway to face Viking in Stavanger.
