SLDC launches seminar on positive practices

Sharjah24: Ahmad Al-Salem, Head of the Academic Intervention and Rehabilitation Department at the Sharjah Center for Learning Difficulties (SCLD), announced that the center organised a seminar on Saturday, at the Sharjah Education Academy titled "Positive Practices for Individuals with Learning Difficulties." This event coincided with the Gulf Day for Learning Difficulties and aimed to highlight the best educational and psychological practices to support students with learning challenges by hosting a selection of specialists in the field.
Raising awareness and family interaction
Ahmad Al-Salem stated in an exclusive interview with "Sharjah 24" that the seminar featured a group of specialists, including Dr. Ibrahim Abu Rayan, who holds a Ph.D. in Special Education and is an expert in learning difficulties, and Dr. Muath Al-Zarouni, a consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist. They discussed academic and psychological support methods for this group during the main session titled "Positive Trends for Individuals with Learning Difficulties."

Training workshops
Al-Salem added that the program included two training workshops: the first titled "Practical Practices for Individuals with Learning Difficulties" and the second titled "Family Guidance for Individuals with Learning Difficulties." These workshops aimed to equip parents and specialists with effective practical methods to improve the learning environment and home support for students.

Enhancing educational services
In closing, the Head of the Academic Intervention and Rehabilitation Department praised the significant interaction from attendees, emphasising that such initiatives enhance the integration between home and school and contribute to the development of educational and psychological services provided to students with learning challenges.
