Sharjah 24 – WAM: Under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region, attended the graduation ceremony of the 44th cohort of United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) graduates at the university’s Al Ain campus.

Ceremony highlights

The event began with the UAE national anthem, followed by a visual presentation showcasing the student journey at UAEU.

A keynote speech was delivered by Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Adviser to the UAE President and Chancellor of UAEU, outlining the university’s achievements and academic mission.
Graduates also gave a speech, and medical students took the official oath before His Highness Sheikh Hazza.

Congratulatory message

His Highness Sheikh Hazza congratulated the graduates, their families, and the university’s staff, encouraging the new graduates to apply their knowledge and skills in service to the nation.
He affirmed that education is a core pillar in building human capital and reflects the leadership’s vision of preparing a capable, future-ready generation.

Commitment to national development

Sheikh Hazza noted that the UAE President’s commitment to education is integral to shaping a competitive, knowledge-based economy.

He emphasised the importance of equipping youth with expertise to meet future challenges and national ambitions.

The event was attended by Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan; senior officials; university faculty; and graduates’ families.

University vision and legacy

In his remarks, Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh highlighted the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who saw investment in people as the foundation of national progress.
He reaffirmed UAEU’s commitment to academic excellence, research innovation, and national development as it approaches its golden jubilee.

Graduation statistics

The 44th cohort includes 2,698 graduates across various disciplines.

  • Day one honoured 821 students with Distinction and Honours
  • Day two included 1,877 graduates from other academic programmes.
