Sharjah 24 – AFP: Inter Milan confirmed that French defender Benjamin Pavard will miss the Champions League semi-final first leg against Barcelona on Wednesday due to a left ankle injury.

Injury sustained during league match

Pavard sprained his ankle during a Serie A clash against Roma after a challenge from an opposing player. Although he tried to continue after receiving medical attention, he exited the match in the 15th minute.

Inzaghi awaits further assessment

Following the 1-0 defeat to Roma, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi commented, “It’s a sprained left ankle, and we’ll see in the next few days if he’ll be able to play.”

Thuram could return from injury

On a positive note, Inter might be able to recall French striker Marcus Thuram, who has missed the last three matches with a thigh injury. His potential return would be timely for the struggling team.

A tough week for Inter

Inter Milan has endured a rough spell, losing three matches in just over a week — to Bologna (1-0), Roma (1-0), and AC Milan (3-0) in the Coppa Italia semi-final. The team has also lost its top spot in Serie A to Napoli, now trailing by three points with just four rounds remaining.
