The committee has laid out detailed plans to continue supporting various vital sectors in the Emirate, in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, aimed at building an integrated knowledge-based society that supports comprehensive development across various fields.
The meeting was chaired by Sheikha Ali Al Naqbi, with the attendance of committee members Dr. Ahmed Saleh Al Naqbi, Rapporteur of the Committee, Kulthum Saif Al Tunaiji, Sheikha Khalfan Al Thunayn Al Naqbi, Moza Muadhid bin Huwaiden, Youssef Mohammed Al Mazrouei, and Mohammed Ali Al Manaei. Also present were Huda Al Hammadi, Secretary of the Committee, and Dr. Islam Al Shiwi, Media Expert at the Council.
During the meeting, held, on Monday, at the Council's headquarters, the committee discussed the achievements made during the previous period, whether through field visits to several educational, sports, and cultural institutions, or through parliamentary discussions under the Council’s dome. The committee emphasised the importance of continuing this approach to evaluate performance and support government plans.
The committee reviewed its upcoming visit agenda, which includes several sports and specialized clubs, aiming to prepare a comprehensive report for the discussion of the policies of the Sharjah Sports Council within the schedule of the next session. The committee will also continue field visits to public and higher education institutions, as well as private education establishments, to strengthen comprehensive follow-up plans for these sectors' policies.
The meeting witnessed expanded discussions around scheduling executive plans for the upcoming period and ways to support initiatives related to educational, cultural, media, and youth sectors, thereby enhancing the SCC’s role as an active bridge between society and the government.
In this context, Sheikha Ali Al Naqbi, Chairperson of the Committee, confirmed that the committee’s parliamentary work aligns with the wise vision of the Ruler of Sharjah, who strongly supports culture, education, media, and youth. She stressed the importance of establishing clear foundations for advancing these vital sectors. She added that the committee will continue implementing its plan of visits and meetings with relevant institutions, contributing to pushing the wheel of development and achieving the sustainable development goals of the emirate.
Sheikha Al Naqbi further clarified that the committee prioritises enhancing integrated work with government departments concerned with education, media, culture, and youth, and monitoring related developmental projects and plans, thus reinforcing Sharjah’s position as a pioneering center in education, culture, and media.
