Leadership and collaboration
The session brought together directors, officials, and workers from government bodies throughout the central and eastern regions and was led by Lt Col Dr Amina Yousif Al Naqbi, Director of Institutional Development at the Eastern Region Police Department. Its primary goal was to improve long-term public sector leadership and performance.
Ongoing excellence initiative
This event is part of the HR Department's "Visions for Sustainable Leadership" series, which debuted last year to encourage innovation, quality, and better work conditions in Sharjah's public institutions. It is the fourth of a planned series for 2025.
Innovation and competitiveness
Key themes covered were senior leadership's role in fostering an excellence culture, the importance of innovation as a driver of institutional growth, and how healthy competition may improve performance across government agencies.
Overcoming challenges
The session discussed possible impediments to institutional excellence and offered practical solutions. It also emphasised employee participation, boosting team spirit, initiative, empowerment, and incorporating principles such as quality and transparency into the institutional culture.
Highlighting best practices
Participants explored success stories when implementing excellence models, highlighting their influence on performance and customer satisfaction. An open debate ensued, with people exchanging ideas and development recommendations.
Interactive close
The programme culminates with an interactive Q&A session sponsored by the Sharjah Driving Institute to further engage attendees and promote institutional excellence. The project aims to motivate government talent to embrace continuous improvement, in keeping with Sharjah's goal for a forward-thinking and proactive administration.
