SPEA engages young minds at Sharjah Children's Reading Festival

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) is taking part in the 16th edition of the Sharjah Children's Reading Festival, sponsored by the Sharjah Book Authority with the theme "Dive into Books," from April 23 to May 4, 2025, at Expo Centre Sharjah.

The festival, held under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, is a major annual event on the emirate’s cultural calendar. It is also supported by the ruler's wife , Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah.

Reading as a core value for students
Ali Al Hosani, Director of the Sharjah Private Education Authority, stated that the Authority's participation demonstrates its desire to instill a love of reading in pupils from a young age. He emphasised the authorities' view of the importance of books in forming children's personalities and developing their intellectual and linguistic talents.

Activities designed to spark curiosity and creativity
The Authority displays its profound commitment to encouraging a culture of reading, sparking discovery and critical thinking among students, and cultivating habits that deepen their knowledge and creativity by participating under the theme, "Let books flood your world."

A diverse and engaging festival programme
Throughout the festival, the Authority provides a diverse schedule of literary, artistic, educational, and awareness-building events on all days.

Highlights of the Authority's participation
Key events include storytelling sessions, art workshops, Quran learning activities, Arabic language classes, stage performances, choir shows, science workshops, poetry recitations, and various student debates and discussions.

Supporting expression and cultural engagement
This involvement demonstrates the authority's commitment to giving students opportunities to express themselves via art, writing, and discussion. It is consistent with Sharjah's educational aim of developing a culturally conscious generation with critical and creative thinking abilities.
