Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence announces new categories

Sharjah 24: Under the generous support of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the Sharjah Private Education Authority initiated the thirty-second edition of the Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence, showing Sharjah's commitment to strengthening a culture of excellence in education and recognizing talented individuals and leaders in the education sector.

The announcement was made on the award's official website.

The award is divided into two main categories: Distinguished Individuals, which includes: Distinguished Educational Leader, Distinguished Teacher, Distinguished Teacher (Inclusive Education Teacher), Distinguished Student (grade 3 to12), Distinguished Student (special needs), Distinguished Parent, and Distinguished Support Jobs.

The second category is the category of Distinguished Institutions, which includes: Distinguished Nursery, Distinguished School, and Distinguished Organizations and Partners Who Support Education.

The award also promotes the Arabic language and preserving the linguistic heritage in education via its exceptional award “Gem of the Arabic Language”.

Ali Al Hosani, Director General of the SPEA, confirmed that the 32nd edition introduced two new categories: Distinguished University Student category and Distinguished University Professor category, bringing the total number of award categories to 13, up from 11. He also noted that the number of winners in the previous edition was 50.

The award administration invited those wishing to participate to follow the official channels of the award to view its agenda and upcoming events via social media accounts or website.
