Supervised by the Department of Community Development in cooperation with various Abu Dhabi social sector organisations, Barakatna aims to enhance home care for senior citizens within their family environments, ensuring a stable and fulfilling lifestyle.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed emphasised the initiative as a reflection of the UAE’s gratitude toward senior citizens, recognizing their sacrifices and continued role in national development. He described them as essential pillars of society whose wisdom guides future generations.
Barakatna seeks to foster stronger family ties by developing a support system that helps caregivers manage their responsibilities while ensuring the wellbeing of senior citizens. It also contributes to building a more united and harmonious society.
His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed endorsed the initiative's pioneering services, developed in partnership with major social entities including the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, the Department of Municipalities and Transport, and the Abu Dhabi Real Estate Centre.
