Sharjah Youth Football Championship kicks off

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Sports Council launched (SSC) the Youth Football Championship for Sharjah clubs under the age of 9, with the participation of 10 clubs and 200 players.

The Championship is part of SSC plan to discover talents by organising the tournament annually.

Outstanding performance

The first round of matches, held on the emirate's stadiums, featured outstanding performances. The teams were divided into two groups, with the top-ranked teams being honoured at the tournament's conclusion on May 30.

In Group A matches, at Sharjah Club Stadium in Al Hazana, Sharjah A defeated Sharjah B 12-2.

At its home stadium, Al Bataeh defeated Al Madam 6-1. In Group B, at its home stadium, Mleiha lost to Dibba Al Hisn 4-2, and Kalba defeated Al Dhaid 3-1.

Sharjah A topped Group A, followed by Al Bataeh, Al Madam, Sharjah B, and Al Hamriyah. Dibba Al Hisn topped Group B, followed by Kalba, Al Dhaid, Maliha, and Khor Fakkan.
