Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Book Authority organised "Echoes," a special poetry evening during Sharjah's participation as Guest of Honour at the 30th Rabat International Book Fair. Hosted by Sheikha Al Mutairi, the event featured poets Khalid Al Budoor and Amal Al Sahlawi from the UAE, alongside Moroccan poet Ikram Abdi. The evening drew a diverse audience of poetry lovers and book fair attendees.

Poets share personal and cultural reflections

Khalid Al Budoor opened the evening by reading from his latest work, In the Roar of a Storm, ... Approaching, blending desert imagery with themes of nostalgia and personal memories. Ikram Abdi followed with emotionally charged verses exploring loss and the echoes of past lives. Amal Al Sahlawi concluded with poems expressing freedom, hope, and existential contemplation.

A celebration of shared themes

The event underscored the richness of contemporary Arab poetry, highlighting shared themes of memory, identity, and freedom, and fostering cultural exchange between Moroccan and Emirati literary voices.
