Sharjah 24 – WAM: Thanks to its visionary leadership and advanced infrastructure, the UAE has become a global role model in efficient and sustainable supply chain systems, said Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence.

Supply chains: The lifeline of modern society

In his opening address at the International Procurement and Supply Chain Conference (IPSC) in Dubai, Sheikh Nahyan likened supply chains to electricity—critical yet often unnoticed until disrupted.

“We have come to realise the fragility of these systems, and the need for them to be resilient, secure, innovative, data-driven, and capable of adapting to rapid global changes,” he emphasized.

IPSC 2025 highlights UAE’s pioneering role

Organised by Blue Ocean Corporation, the IPSC 2025 drew over 500 global leaders, industry experts, and decision-makers. Under the theme Redefining Global Trade: The UAE Shaping Sustainable Supply Chains for the Future,” the event spotlighted the UAE’s leadership in driving sustainable trade innovation amid rapid economic shifts.

Collaboration key to future-ready supply chains

Sheikh Nahyan noted that recent global crises—including the COVID-19 pandemic and maritime disruptions—have underlined the importance of collaboration across governments and institutions to ensure supply chain sustainability and environmental protection.

Strategic investments and technological integration

He outlined the UAE’s strategic investments in ports, airports, free zones, and manufacturing, coupled with the adoption of modern technologies and transparent policies. These elements collectively position the UAE at the forefront of global supply chain innovation.

Guided by wise leadership

Sheikh Nahyan credited the nation’s progress to the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Vice President and Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum

He reaffirmed that the UAE aims to be a global model—not just for national interest, but to offer solutions others can benefit from.

Embracing global collaboration

“We welcome international collaboration, and we view supply chains as a fundamental pillar of national security, economic strategy, and innovation,” said Sheikh Nahyan.

Optimism for the future

Concluding his address, Sheikh Nahyan expressed optimism for the conference’s outcomes:

“Your participation in this event is a source of hope and optimism. Collaboration in supply chains is essential to global economic growth and regional and international integration.”

A prestigious global gathering

Held under Sheikh Nahyan’s patronage, the IPSC also featured prominent figures such as Sourav Ganguly, legendary Indian cricketer, and Amruta Fadnavis, Indian social activist and Chairperson of the Divija Foundation

Their presence underscored the conference’s global stature and the UAE’s role as a premier hub for international cooperation.

UAE: Leading the charge for sustainable trade

Dr Sathya Menon, Group CEO of Blue Ocean, stated: “The IPSC has once again proven to be a dynamic platform for change… the UAE is not merely adapting to sustainable trade demands—it is leading the way.”

The event showcased innovations like AI-powered logistics and green procurement, aligning with the UAE’s ambitions in green trade leadership.

IPSC sets new standard for global collaboration

As the UAE solidifies its position as a global trade and innovation hub, IPSC 2025 set a new benchmark for thought leadership and international cooperation. Blue Ocean Corporation also announced that the next edition of the conference will be held in New Delhi.
