The Old Market in Khorfakkan city receives a great turnout fr om the people and visitors during the holy month of Ramadan, to enjoy the Ramadan atmosphere among the historical landmarks, museums, shops and commercial stores.
Dr. Fatima Al Mughni stated that the market is one of the ancient landmarks in Khorfakkan that dates back decades, and it was a meeting place for the people to buy their needs and have evening gatherings.
Unique location
Al Mughni added that the market is unique in its location near “Al Rabi Fort” and “Al Adwani Tower”, in addition to its location opposite Khorfakkan Port, which is one of the strategic pillars of the city's economy, and it also houses the main museum, Khorfakkan Fort.
Al Mughni explained that after the market was restored and revived under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah in 2019, it regained its commercial and heritage role again, and became one of the most important tourist destinations in the city.
