Sharjah24: The Sharjah Sports Council will participate in the ITB Berlin travel trade show 2025 from 3 to 6 March, alongside several government entities under the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority’s umbrella. The council's participation aims to exchange expertise with international organisations and promote sports tourism, given Sharjah’s track record of hosting global sporting events annually. The exhibition presents a significant opportunity to forge partnerships and memoranda of understanding to support tourism marketing and highlight major sporting events in the emirate.

 Council delegation

The council’s delegation includes Mariam Saeed Al Naqbi, Acting Head of Public Relations at the Government Communication Department; Othman Bakhit Al Ghafli, Procurement Executive at the Support Services Department; and Al Anoud Saeed Al Harithi, Project Executive at the Strategy and Development Department.

 Strengthening Sharjah’s international reputation

Mohammed Ali bin Hammam, Director of Government Communication at the Sharjah Sports Council, emphasised that the participation reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to promote the emirate’s tourism sector through sports. He highlighted that the council organises diverse sporting events, attracting international participants and contributing to tourism growth.

 Maximising international partnerships

Bin Hammam added that the council seeks to capitalise on ITB Berlin 2025 to bolster its global reputation, foster sports tourism, and support Sharjah’s position as a leading destination. The council’s participation aims to forge new partnerships and boost the emirate’s social and economic development.
