Sharjah 24: Essdras M. Suarez, Chief Photographer and Instructor at EMS Photo Adventures, LLC, conducted a workshop entitled "Street Photography: Seeing the Extraordinary in the Ordinary" at the 9th Annual International Photography Festival (Xposure). During this session, he articulated the importance of capturing everyday moments through the lens of five principles of self-defense: alertness, awareness, avoidance, anticipation, and action, omitting the principle of avoidance, thereby shaping a photographer's mindset.

Suarez posited that a photographer must remain "alert" and "aware" of their surroundings, while also "anticipating" the moments that would serve as catchy subjects for photography, ultimately taking "action" by capturing these instances through their camera. This approach underscores how artistic creation is realized through the lens.

In an interview with "Sharjah 24," he further elaborated that photographers ought to cultivate the ability to observe their surroundings and document human interactions mentally, prior to recording them photographically. He suggested employing the "4 As" framework to transform one’s perspective, refine artistic vision, and enhance the practice of street photography significantly.
