During Sharjah Heritage Days, ISESCO pavilion will see a number of activities, including workshops and interactive programmes that aim to introduce the public to the roles and various initiatives of the Regional Office and provide a rich experience that goes beyond traditional celebrations to an integrated experience that combines heritage, thought, culture and public interaction within various programmes.
The pavilion also allocates activities for children that combine entertainment and education, with the aim of instilling the values of heritage from a young age.
In line with celebrating heritage, the Regional Office is launching a special competition entitled "The Most Beautiful Heritage Photo", which allows visitors to participate with their photographic creativity in documenting the aesthetics of heritage. The event reflects the role of ISESCO Regional Office in Sharjah, which is keen to enrich the cultural scene through active participation in major heritage events and organising initiatives that raise the awareness of generations of the importance of heritage as a bridge linking the past with the present and the future.
Salem Omar Salem, Director of the ISESCO Regional Office in Sharjah, stressed that the Office's participation in Sharjah Heritage Days reflects the organisation's commitment to enhancing the presence of world heritage in major cultural events, noting that this participation comes within the Office's strategy to enhance awareness of heritage and deepen cultural ties between peoples.
Salem pointed out that participation embodies the existing cooperation between the ISESCO Regional Office and the Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH), which organises Sharjah Heritage Days with the aim of highlighting the richness of local, Arab and Islamic heritage and providing a platform for cultural interaction between peoples, thus enhancing Sharjah's position as an incubator of culture and heritage.
