The UAE team triumphed over Morocco with a 14-7 victory, securing the championship trophy and gold medals. Morocco claimed second place, earning the silver medals, while Egypt finished third after defeating Libya 17-0 to win the bronze medals.
In the women’s competition, the UAE women's team earned the bronze medal, beating Lebanon 27-7 in the third-place play-off. Tunisia took the gold after defeating Egypt 38-0, with Egypt securing the silver.
This impressive achievement by the UAE team marked a remarkable accomplishment, as they claimed both the men's gold and women's bronze, in a event that saw participation from 16 teams, including 10 men's and 6 women's teams.
After the final match, Qais Al Dhaheri, President of the Arab and Asian Rugby Federations, awarded the champions their trophies, in the presence of Hossam Sahib, President of the Egyptian Rugby Federation, along with several heads of Arab sports federations and sports figures.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Rugby Federation, expressed pride in the achievement, highlighting the continued support of the leadership, which played a key role in the team's success. He emphasised that the national team had regained its position as the top team in the Arab world, while the women’s team continued to shine, reflecting the efforts of the federation’s teams, coaches, and players.
