Al Hamriyah hosts sports day for scouts at Sharjah 2025

Sharjah 24: Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club, located on Al Hamriyah Beach, hosted a sports activity on Saturday, February 15, 2025, for participants in the 10th International Scout Meeting "Sharjah 2025," which is being held under the theme "Scouting and Sustainable Development." The event, which started on February 10, will run until February 17, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

Attendance and support from key figures

The event was attended by His Excellency Humaid Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Hamriyah Club, and His Excellency Major General Abdullah Al Suwaidi, Deputy Chairman of the Sharjah Scout Commission, General Supervisor of the Higher Organising Committee of the Meeting. Around 300 scouts from different countries participated in the activities.

Importance of sports in scouting values

Both His Excellency Al Shamsi and His Excellency Major General Al Suwaidi highlighted the importance of the event, emphasising the role of sports in promoting scouting values and physical fitness among young people. They also praised the efforts of the organizing team for the successful execution of the event.

The scouts enjoyed a range of sports activities, including marine sports such as rowing, kayaking, and swimming, as well as football, basketball, and volleyball competitions. The sports day fostered a competitive yet friendly atmosphere, encouraging teamwork and positive competition.
