Sharjah 24: Thekrayat Ma’touq, Director of Exhibitions and Events at the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, shared that the 22nd edition of Sharjah Heritage Days focuses on the theme "Roots," highlighting various aspects of life in the UAE.

Diverse themes across exhibitions

The main exhibition, "Roots," includes a series of displays covering healthcare, decoration, education, and perfumes. Notable exhibitions include the Al Mahatta Museum, which commemorates the first airport in the country. Another key exhibition is the "Judge Exhibition," which traces the development of the UAE's judiciary system and showcases rare manuscripts and important figures.

Perfumes through the ages

Ma’touq told “Sharjah 24” that a special exhibition, "Perfumes Through the Ages," explores the evolution of European perfumes, highlighting influences from Pharaonic and Arab civilisations. This exhibit is coordinated with French artists and features a large model of the Rwala tree, symbolising national and social occasions.

Century of libraries

In celebration of Sharjah’s centennial anniversary of libraries, the event also includes the "A Century of Libraries 1925" exhibition. This exhibition focuses on influential figures in the library sector and displays rare collectibles and manuscripts.
