Sharjah 24: Fujairah International Marine Club hosted the second round of the UAE Rowing League, where the championship saw strong competition between Sharjah Women's Sports Club, Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, and Dubai Police Club.
Teams competed on a 780-metre track, which was a real test of the endurance and technical skills of the competitors.

Exceptional performance

Sharjah Women's Sports Club players continued to deliver exceptional performance, achieving multiple medals in various categories. 
Bushra Qadri, Hamda Qadri, Fatima Khalaf, and Shamsa Al Sharyani excelled in the  four-woman race, winning the gold medal after a distinguished performance that reflects harmony and physical strength.

In the women's doubles race, Fatima Khalaf and Shamsa Al Sharyani managed to win the silver medal after a strong performance, while Bushra Qadri and Hamda Qadri won the bronze medal in the same category, reflecting the strength of the team and the diversity of its skills.

In the women's singles race, Fatima Khalaf gave a distinguished performance that enabled her to win the silver medal, while Hamda Qadri came in third place, achieving the bronze medal, which strengthened the club's presence in the individual races.

As for the under-19 singles category, Shamsa Al Sharyani continued to shine by winning the gold medal after a strong race, while Fatima Khalaf won the silver medal, and Shawq Al Mansoori came in third place, achieving the bronze medal, reflecting the emergence of a new generation of promising talents in the club.

Players’ continuous development

Following the end of the tournament, Sarah Bayeh Janan, the rowing team coach at Sharjah Women's Sports Club, praised the strong performance of the players, saying that players’ performance reflects the great effort made by the players in training. The challenges were greater with the increase in the length of the course to 780 metres, but the team showed mental toughness and high fitness that enabled them to compete strongly until the finish line. She added that they are proud of the achievements made, but the most important thing is the continuous development we see in the players' performance round after round. Players’ goal is not only to win, but to build a team capable of competing in all local and international fora, and they are confident that the future will be better."


With this outstanding performance, Sharjah Women's Sports Club confirms its leading position in women's rowing, and continues its quest to make more achievements in the upcoming rounds of the league.
