The event featured innovative projects and scientific experiments by students and graduates of the Department of Chemistry, focusing on various topics such as the fundamentals of chemistry, awareness of pharmaceutical products, cosmetic analysis, and food toxicity. The festival provided an opportunity for students to gain career insights from alumni. Several specialised entities participated, showcasing internship and career opportunities for students.
Prof. Nouar Tabet, Dean of the College of Sciences, emphasised that organising this festival reflects the college’s commitment to raising awareness among students and the community about chemical hazards. He described the event as a unique opportunity to highlight students’ projects, encourage innovation and scientific research, and advance various fields of chemistry to find solutions to environmental and health-related issues.
The festival concluded with the announcement of the top three projects. The first-place award went to the project titled "Cosmetic Toxicity" by students Hooriya Humayun, Mariam Dahmani, Maria Andrea Cartago Garcia, and Nibal Baydas. The second place was awarded to the projects "Cookware Toxicity and Milk Adulteration" by Lamia Alhamwi, Malaika Haji, Mariam Imad Yassin, and Sara Yahya Ba Fadhl, while the third place was secured by the project "Food Toxicity" by Sham Kamal, Bara’ Zeyad Al Azaizeh, Asiya Ahmad Kaddoura, and Alaa Ahmad.
The opening ceremony was attended by Prof. Abdel-Nasser Metwally Aly Kawde, Chair of the Department of Chemistry, along with faculty members, administrative staff, students from the Department of Chemistry, and a number of high school students.
